Mobility Program

UPM offers student a mobility programme to meet the needs of international students who wish to spend a single semester or one full academic year of study in Malaysia. It also gives a similar opportunity to UPM students who wish to experience studying at academic institutions abroad. UPM has signed approximately 96 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to foster student mobility programmes with universities from all over the world as of February 2012.

By participating in this programme, students will return to their respective universities with new knowledge, cultural understanding, maturity and lifelong friends from the host country. Student mobility is a programme that initiates the exchange of students between two institutions for one or two semester(s) of study that usually allows credit transfer to the existing degree programme in the student‟s home university. This exchange will provide the student with the academic experience that benefits his/her programme of study.

Types of Mobility Programme

1. Exchange programme (1 or 2 semester)
2. Short term programme (2 weeks or more)
3. Internship programme (2 weeks to 6 months)
4. Industrial Training / Research (2 weeks or more)
5. Visit (less than 2 weeks)
