SERDANG, 6 MARCH – The Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Associate Prof. Dr. Razali Yaakob, launched the FSKTM Mega Gotong-Royong Program in conjunction with Green Sustainability Day at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology in its Main Lecture Hall.

The program was held to fulfil the responsibility of faculty members in applying the culture of green sustainability and maintaining a clean environment in the workplace. The spirit of team work among faculty members to hold this joint effort was also in preparation for the entry of students in the coming new semester.

Before starting the gotong-royong, Associate Prof. Dr. Nurliyana Abdullah gave a briefing on the distribution of work tasks according to the team groups that were divided into three blocks. Each team was divided into two groups of men and women who performed tasks in the external and internal environments of the faculty.

A job that seemed difficult at first become easier in accordance with the Malay proverb, ‘berat sama dipikul, ringan sama dijinjing’. The work started in the morning by the men cleaning the water reservoir area and the long tree branches outside while the women focused on cleanliness in the lecture rooms, meeting rooms and laboratories. The organization of this mutual cooperation was carried out with the close cooperation of each member and the spirit of teamwork. This program received good support and cooperation among faculty members including management members and researchers as well as supporting staff at all age levels. This effort should be maintained in order to foster cooperation and facilitate tasks in the office.
