Hackfest MBSP 2021 is an event where developers, government employees, designers, journalists, data scientists, non - profit employees, UX designers, and residents who care about their communities come together leveraging their skills to help their community by building solutions to improving MBSP’s services. All the proposed solutions submitted to MBSP will be fully owned by MBSP. For groups with innovative ideas, MBSP will consider implementing the project for the use of MBSP.

“The hackathon competition has witnessed enthusiastic participation of pall participants from all over Malaysia comprising the Peninsula (Penang, Kedah, Perak, Selangor, Putrajaya, Melaka, Johor, Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu), Sabah and Sarawak. Even in terms of age, there was a significant difference where the age range of the participants was from 18 up to 52 years. Meaning hackfest isn’t just in demand by the masses of youth, even among adults.” said YBHG. Dato’ Sr Haji Rozali Bin Haji Mohamud, Datuk Bandar Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai in the closing ceremony.

There are a total of 4 problem statements provided by the MBSP. Team Hackidz tackle the information collection for award nomination problem statements provided by MBSP’s Management and Human Resource Department. The winning idea namely “ePencalonan” is a platform to digitalise the whole information collection process by incorporating technology such as image processing, OCR technology and AI bot.

UPM is proud of our students who contribute their knowledge and expertise in national building by providing innovative solutions to fasten the digital transformation agenda.
