SERDANG, July 21 – UPM Staff Sports Launching Ceremony in year 2023 which has been inaugurated by UPM Vice-Chancellor, YBhg. Dato' Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman at Sport Centre Stadium last night which was also filled with eight parade contigent gathered by 400 participants.

At the event, all the various mascots showed off their performances and energetic foot parade. The first-ever marching competition held for the first time after the COVID-19 pandemic has attracted the attention of the public and VIP guests with marching parades and fireworks performance. The gestures and spontaneous actions of various mascots such as chicken, panda, tiger, scorpion, robot and black panther were characterised as very tweeting the hearts of the audience present at the event.

YBhg. UPM Vice-Chancellor described staff sports as a platform to shape the spirit of togetherness of UPM staff as well as preparing UPM athletes and teams to participate in bigger sports such as Sukan Badan Berkanun (SUKANUN) this September and Kejohanan Sukan Staf Universiti Malaysia (SUKUM) which will be held next year.

This year, the parade contingent from Gabungan 2 (G2) once again managed to bring home two prizes at the Sukan Staf UPM celebration night. The fatigue and effort that had been endeavoured during the five days of preparation had paid off with the victory of the best fifth place parade out of eight groups or parade combination. G2 was once again awarded the prize for the best overall motto category, 'Menggugat Lawan, Menggegar Impian'. Congratulations G2!!
