KUALA LUMPUR, December 2023 - Chai Kok Cheng from Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology UPM won the EY Young Technology Professional Challenge 2023 organised by Ernst & Young (EY) together with Petronas and SAP. With his teammates, Lavinya Puvanathan and Vanessa Yew, they excelled in developing an innovative technological solution and a comprehensive business case. Their exceptional work not only secured the top spot but also earned them an Honourable Mention for Innovation Scale and a cash prize of RM12,000.

Furthermore, Chai Kok Cheng won the Champion with cash prize RM6000 for DevHack International Hackathon 2023 organised by Google Developer Groups GeorgeTown. Competing against participants from 22 countries, the team, FourFuture consists of Chai Kok Cheng ,Ng Yong Jing, Wong Jie and Pua Ching Ying showcased exceptional skill and innovation. Their solution, FreshRescue, which brilliantly tackles food waste using cutting-edge AI, AR, and Machine Learning technologies.
