Every year, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for numbers of outbound students are determined by the University’ Management to be fulfilled by each faculties and institutes. A Student Mobility Committee lead by Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) are formed to look into policies of student mobility.
Every year, an amount of fund are allocated by UPM to facilitate cross-border student mobility programme. In addition, funding for these activities are obtained through a bidding process from sponsors such as ASEAN International Mobility Students (AIMS) programme, Malaysia–Thailand Postgraduate Seminar Programme and Erasmus Mundus Programme.
Category of mobility programme
* Students are reminded that financial assistance will only be provided to programme that meet the criteria of the above categories only. For programme that are less than 14 days will not get any financial assistance.

The Student Mobility Committee headed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) has set criteria for UPM students who are interested in participating in mobility programme.

The application will be through a meeting of the Student Mobility Committee chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) to be held at the 3rd * week of each month.
Students are recommended to submit applications at least two (2) months prior to undergoing a mobility program.
* The meeting schedule may vary according to current requirements. Students are advised to refer with mobility section.
