SERDANG, 29 June 2026 – The Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), YBhg. Dato' Prof. Dr. Shamala K. Subramaniam, together with the Deputy Dean (Academic, Student Affairs and Alumni), Associate Professor Dr. Hazura Zulzalil, attended the Faculty Student Representative Council (ComCil) 2026 Annual General Meeting, held at the Dewan Taklimat
The meeting served as an important platform for the presentation of ComCil's annual report and achievements for the 2025/2026 session, while also providing members with the opportunity to review the council's progress and future plans in strengthening student leadership within the faculty.
A key highlight of the meeting was the official leadership handover ceremony, marking the transition from the ComCil 2025/2026 committee to the newly appointed ComCil 2026/2027 committee. The ceremony symbolised the beginning of a new chapter in continuing the faculty's commitment to student development and leadership.
FCSIT extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the ComCil 2025/2026 committee, led by Ms. Kimberly Megan Theseira, for their unwavering commitment, dedication, and invaluable contributions throughout their term of service. Their leadership played a significant role in enhancing student welfare, organising impactful academic and personal development initiatives, and fostering effective communication between students and the faculty management.

The faculty also congratulates the newly appointed ComCil 2026/2027 committee, led by Mr. Russel Thang Hsien Rhon, on assuming their leadership roles. It is hoped that the new committee will carry out its responsibilities with integrity, commitment, and a strong spirit of collaboration while continuing to champion student welfare and strengthen the culture of excellence within FCSIT.
FCSIT remains committed to fostering a close partnership with the Faculty Student Representative Council through strategic collaboration, effective communication, and active student engagement in academic, co-curricular, and leadership development initiatives. The faculty looks forward to ComCil 2026/2027 continuing to make meaningful contributions and serving as a catalyst in nurturing holistic, competitive, and future-ready graduates in line with the aspirations of Universiti Putra Malaysia.
