UPM Serdang, 6 November 2024 – The Industry Training and Career Unit of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology organized the CSIT Career Fair 2024, a two-day event that began on 5 November 2024. The program was officially launched by YBhg. Dato' Prof. Dr. Shamala K. Subramaniam, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology.

A total of 18 companies participated in this third edition of the event, including Deloitte Southeast Asia, Global Intelligence Sdn Bhd, Bank Negara Malaysia, Boostorder Sdn Bhd, PERKESO, Zalora (M), Syntronic Malaysia Sdn Bhd, iDynamics Software Sdn Bhd, Finuexus Group, AMD, SangforTech (M) Sdn Bhd, Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Hilti Asia, Texas Instruments Malaysia Sdn Bhd, E-Outsource Asia Sdn Bhd, eBdesk Malaysia Sdn Bhd, and BeanSE Sdn Bhd.

The program offered students the opportunity to connect directly with leading companies in the information technology industry, receive guidance on industrial training and career pathways, and gain a deeper understanding of the requirements and opportunities in the job market.

Various sessions were held, including open interviews, career-sharing sessions, industry talks, technology quizzes, and programming competitions, which successfully attracted many student participants. Additionally, self-development workshops were conducted to help students prepare for the workforce. The event provided a platform for employers to identify new talent, particularly in fields such as programming, software development, and data science, aligning with the university's aspirations to emphasize areas like AI, Quantum Computing, and Food Security.

Furthermore, several student clubs ran booths to hone entrepreneurial skills, and there were eight food and beverage stalls available for the convenience of visitors throughout the event.

The CSIT Career Fair 2024 received an excellent response, with a record attendance of 350 people. This number included students from the Department of Computer Science, Department of Software Engineering and Information Systems, Department of Multimedia, and Department of Communication and Network Technology. Additionally, students from the Faculty of Human Ecology, Faculty of Educational Studies, and Faculty of Biotechnology also attended the event.
