Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) held a pivotal meeting in collaboration with FINEXUS to discuss the creation of the first Fintech Hub for Higher Education at the faculty. This meeting, led by the Dean of FCSIT, Dato' Prof. Dr. Shamala K. Subramaniam, and the Deputy Dean, Dr. Hazura Zulzalil, was a significant step towards advancing the intersection of finance and technology. The discussions underscored the importance of establishing a dedicated hub to foster innovation and research in the Fintech sector, which is rapidly evolving and becoming a cornerstone of modern financial practices.

Mr. Sivavenayakam Velayutham, Director of Partnership and Key Projects at FINEXUS, was also present at the meeting, contributing valuable insights and expertise. His role was instrumental in shaping the collaborative framework between FINEXUS and FCSIT. During the meeting, Mr. Velayutham emphasized the strategic importance of the Fintech Hub in fostering industry partnerships and driving impactful projects. His involvement highlighted FINEXUS's commitment to supporting educational initiatives that align with industry needs and trends.

Dr. Salfarina Abdullah, the FCSIT Fintech Research Project Leader, presented an in-depth overview of the proposed hub. Dr. Abdullah's presentation outlined the strategic vision for the Fintech Hub, emphasizing its potential to drive cutting-edge research and technological advancements. The hub is envisioned as a central node for fostering innovation in Fintech, aiming to bridge gaps between academic research and practical industry applications. This initiative seeks to position FCSIT as a leader in Fintech education and research, thereby enhancing the faculty's contributions to the global Fintech landscape.
