April 2022 - Xlektrik team comprised of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) students, Hoh Jia Da and Heon Hi Teng was declared the winner at CIPTA 2022 competition organized by iCUBE, an organisation aiming to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among Malaysian. The CIPTA 2022 was organized in an online format from the Zoom due to the current situation which was heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. UPM students, Hoh Jia Da and Heon Hi Teng have emerged as the 1^st Runner Up of the competition and brought home 500 Pounds cash prize, along with certificates.

CIPTA is the flagship event of iCUBE since its launch. It is a pre-accelerator programme designed for students regardless of their level of knowledge about entrepreneurship and field of study. Besides that, it is a launchpad for entrepreneurial-minded students to start and grow their startups. They will be equipped with essential skills and knowledge through exclusive workshops and mentorship programmes. CIPTA participants will be able to develop their ideas into Minimum Viable Product (MVP) throughout the programme.

Team member of Xlektrik, Heon Hi Teng said, “I was glad to join the CIPTA programme as it brings us through all the essential stages of building a startup starting from the ideation phase and also gain support from professional mentors who have had a profound experience in startups”. The competition has witnessed the enthusiastic participation of participants from university students in the UK and Malaysia.

Team Xlektrik proposed a solution on Xlektrik (www.xlektrik.com) which is a food & grocer delivery service provider that serves the students community staying inside university features. Their features included an all-in-one E-commerce store where students can have multiple selections in an order, a vendor store features where students/ SMEs can have their own online store, and a riders platform where students can sign up as part-time riders.

Xlektrik strives to improve the university student experience with its app by creating a one-stop platform to connect university students with food vendors. It has three main features an online store, vendor management, and rider delivery for users.
